The 84th UNHCR Standing Committee will take place in Geneva on 28th - 30th June. As always, this represents a great opportunity for NGOs to express their views on issues of concern and contribute to UNHCR’s review of activities and programmes via the delivery of collective NGO statements.
In this regard, the International Council for Voluntary Agencies (ICVA) would like to invite NGOs to take the lead in drafting statements, which will then be further developed collectively. To see statements delivered previously, please check their webpage here.
Please contact the ICVA Secretariat by the 2nd May with your expressions of interest concerning one of the following agenda items. ICVA are proposing to coordinate up to 3 statements maximum on the following themes/agenda items:
- Note on international protection (including solutions)
- The oral update on the ExCom Conclusions, focusing this year on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support
- UNHCR’s engagement with internally displaced persons
