Sandra Hart, Oxfam’s Pacific Cash & Livelihoods Lead, talks about her first-hand experience in delivering a cash-based programme to assist families displaced by the Ambae volcano in Vanuatu, in 2018, which represents the first multi-purpose grant programme in the Pacific.
She also talks about the feasibility studies that Oxfam has carried out in Vanuatu and Solomon Islands, the programme they are piloting in Port Vila, and the benefits, lessons learnt and outcomes of using cash in the Pacific.
