Brazil's south-eastern state of Sao Paulo is in crisis after severe rainfall and flooding impacted the region last week. Governor Tarcisio de Freitas stated that the amount of rain that hit the region was the highest ever recorded in the nation.
Over 50 deaths have been recorded, with many more missing and thousands of homes destroyed. Governor Tarcisio de Freitas has declared three days of mourning in the region and 180 days of calamity in towns most affected.
