The World Food Programme (WFP) has issued a stark warning about the deteriorating hunger situation in Haiti. Gang violence has displaced a significant portion of the population and severely hampered the delivery of vital food aid. This has resulted in a record number of Haitians facing hunger, with an estimated 1.6 million people in emergency food insecurity.
While WFP and other humanitarian organisations are working tirelessly to provide food assistance, a critical funding shortage threatens to further exacerbate the crisis. Urgent action is required from the international community to ensure that life-saving aid reaches those who need it most.
