Last week, the World Health Organisation launched the Health Inequity Data Repository, the most thorough analysis of data on population health ever released, which tracks health data across populations and overtime.
The comprehensive platform includes over 11 million data points from over 2000 indicators broken down into different aspects of inequality including demographic, socioeconomic and geographical factors. Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General, describes the new resource as a “one-stop-shop for data inequality.”
“The ability to direct services to those who need them the most is vital to advancing health equity and improving lives”, he says. “If we are truly committed to leaving no one behind, we must figure out who is being missed.”
